Procurement is a key enabler in driving and supporting Johnson & Johnson’s growth. Being part of procurement organization, the incumbent in this role will be driving and/or supporting all aspect spend performance such as reliability, innovation, costs, supply network readiness and corporate citizenship goals collaborating with wider procurement, and supply chain community.

The Biologics Category Senior Manager is responsible for the global procurement of Biologics Consumables including single use technology and filter assemblies which are used in Large Molecule Drug Substance manufacturing across our network. The Senior Manager is responsible for managing the team accountable for driving value with Biologics Consumables suppliers across the assigned portfolio.

The individual will be required to develop and manage strong relationships with key suppliers, the sites and the technical teams to improve supplier reliability and value creation. The role’s success will be measured across multiple dimensions: financial performance, delivery performance, service, category strategy, and compliance adherence.

The Senior Manager, Biologics Category scope of responsibilities includes:

• Lead the team to drive the Procurement vision: shaping supplier solutions that will transform healthcare.
• Supplier Relationship Management. Manage the interactions with critical suppliers at senior executive level that supply the goods , including performance management, reliability improvement and value creation.
• Sourcing. Ensure execution of category strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders for reducing total costs of externally purchased materials, goods and services and improving levels of quality, service and value to the Business
• Contracting. Systematically and efficiently manage complex contracts approval, administration and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk.
• Category Strategy. Develop and drive the vision, strategy and implementation plan in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across the portfolio to deliver maximum value for J&J
• Business Engagement. Manage the needs and expectations of the Business to drive satisfaction while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies. Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive reliability improvement.
• Procurement Strategy & Enablement. Develop and maintain the strategic direction for the Procurement function, ensure alignment to strategic goals and standards and effectively manage the enabling tools and technology required across the function

Qualifications

Required:

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required.
• Demonstrated skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category and Supplier Management, preferably in the Supply Chain Environment
• Strong stakeholder management skills working with cross category, supply chain and other functional partners.
• Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in complex matrix environment
• Proven / demonstrated ability to influence, partner on & shape projects with / without direct team / authority.
• Ability to engage, interact and negotiate value enhancing relationships with suppliers
• Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
• Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization is able to effectively and efficiently move through transitions
• Proven knowledge in Biologics and Large Molecule Drug Substance Manufacturing is a clear asset.
• This position may require up to 15% travel

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Strong level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., Supplier Management and Performance, Supply Market Analysis, Cost Modeling, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
• Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
• Ability to influence and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., Businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory)
• Must be highly skilled at collaboration and comfortable working in a matrix organization.
• Previous experience in highly complex and global environment is a must.
• Knowledge of Biologics and Large Molecule Manufacturing Industry is a preference.
• Innovation / creativity in Procurement are highly desirable skills
