Our Spreadshirt D2C Team is responsible for developing and maintaining the whole customer facing website of Spreadshirt. We strive for making our customers shopping experience as easy and as enjoyable as possible. Together with a team of product owners, product designers and UX researchers we add new features and improve existing ones based on user feedback

We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer Backend (f/m/d) and drive innovation forward. The role is full-time and offers the flexibility to work on-site at our Leipzig headquarters or remotely within Germany.

What you will do

• You will build solutions that help thousands of customers every day to find or create personalised apparel, accessories and much more
• You will be part of a passionate team to find the best possible solutions together
• You will collaborate closely with engineers, product designers, product owners, UX researchers, and users
• You will attack complexity and fight for simple solutions

What you will bring

• You use Java / Kotlin with Spring Boot or Dropwizard
• You persist data using MongoDB and MySQL
• You are familiar with distributed systems and their challenges.
• Ideally you have some experience deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• You will monitor our services using Kibana and Grafana
• You appreciate existing applications and are able to maintain and incrementally modernize them guided by refactoring strategies and automated testing.
• You have a pragmatic mindset and care about solving existing problems for our users and working together with our design and research teams to develop new, exciting features.
• You are versed in planning software architectures and setting up long-term roadmaps
• You stay up to date with the latest developments in the software industry.
• You like helping colleagues who are stuck and don’t mind asking for help.
• You have an collaborative nature, are open minded and have a growth-mindset.
• You have a good command of English and can easily communicate in English.
