About the Role:
In this role, you will serve as global Senior Legal Counsel with focus on Data/Digital & IT within Novartis Operations Legal as well as key lawyer specialized in the data and information technology field within the Global Procurement, Data/Digital and IT Legal team. Furthermore, you will advise the Data, Digital & IT function and Data, Digital & IT Procurement regarding complex agreements and projects as well as act as a legal business partner to relevant Data/Digital &IT (Procurement) clients on global level.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Act as Senior Legal Counsel for significant global IT agreements with vendors and partners • Manage significant global projects in close alignment with the Head Legal Global Procurement, D/D & IT
• Act as collaborative legal team player as well as provide relevant trainings to clients
• Oversee & lead, advise as well as execute the drafting, review and negotiation of various types of contracts related to e.g. IT infrastructure, cloud computing, service level agreements (SLA), software licenses, IT outsourcing, professional services etc.) from third parties and the provision of services to other Novartis companies
• Provide legal advice in the field of IT Security, intellectual property rights, data protection, trade sanctions and open-source software and collaborate with the respective departments within Novartis
• Provide guidance on legal matters related to artificial intelligence (AI) & data including counselling on the business model, negotiating agreements, advising on relevant data & AI regulations
• Lead the drafting and negotiation of various types of complex commercial agreements
• Partner with colleagues to contribute expertise as needed as well as manage potential disputes and dispute resolution

Anfrage

Essential Requirements:
• Bar exam, preferably civil law
• Proficiency in English and German (written and spoken)
• Significant post bar experience gained either within a multinational corporation and/or top tier law firm paired with enthusiasm for new technologies and its legal implications
• Substantial, relevant experience in IT law, IT security, intellectual property rights and data protection in leading large and complex legal transactions in DD&IT, and managing high caliber disputes independently
• Strong experience in handling a high volume of activity involving multiple, often complex projects simultaneously, able to set priorities, and deal positively within tight timelines and demanding clients
