Our environment

We are on the forefront of a technology transition, moving towards a new technology stack that leverages Apache Kafka on Confluent Cloud at its core, while still maintaining and optimizing our existing Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure. We are seeking a talented and adaptable individual who can help us bridge the gap between these two technologies and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our (data) infrastructure.

Your work will involve

• Maintaining and Enhancing MS SQL Server infrastructure: You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, optimization, and development of our large MS SQL

Server infrastructure. This includes managing highly optimized stored procedures, ensuring data integrity, and implementing performance enhancements.
• Transition to Apache Kafka: You will play a key role in our transition to Apache Kafka on Confluent Cloud. This involves designing and implementing data pipelines, stream processing, and real-time data integration solutions using Kafka.
• Collaboration with C# Developers: Our development team primarily uses C# for their services that interact with the database and Kafka. You will collaborate closely with C# developers to provide support, optimize data access, and ensure seamless data flow.
• Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and fine-tune the performance of our database systems to meet the demands of our applications, ensuring high

availability and low latency.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, such as GDPR.
What you bring with you

• Extensive Database Expertise: Proven experience in designing, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale MS SQL Server clusters, including expertise in writing and optimizing complex stored procedures
• Kafka Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka and experience with its ecosystem, including Confluent Cloud would be a huge plus
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in C# and the ability to work closely with C# developers to align database and application requirements
• Team Player: Excellent communication, problem solving and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and take a leading role in our technology transition
