We are looking for a (Senior) CRM Tech & Data Manager to join our office in Berlin! CRM at Babbel means: guiding our learners through their lifecycle from registration to becoming loyal brand advocates, converting them into paying subscribers, helping them build healthy learning habits, stay active learners and experience language learning success, all while maximizing their overall LTV between all the different products, plans and variety of learning experiences that Babbel has to offer.

In this position you will own and oversee the setup and optimization of our CRM tech & data stack, support the channel managers with tech & data related questions and challenges, as well as constantly develop and improve the connection to other tools and systems we use throughout the company, reactively as well as proactively. As our specialist in this area, you will lead these efforts, often cross-functionally together with product managers and engineers from various areas.

You will

  • Support the maintenance and development of our CRM tech & data infrastructure, monitor CRM tools, platforms and channels such as: email, email opt-in, deliverability & sender reputation, mobile push, in-app messaging, web channels & banners or data collection scripts
  • Own the tech & data part of the conception, development and implementation of strategies/automations to improve lead conversion, subscriber upsell, customer retention and learner engagement & loyalty
  • Support the rest of the CRM team in maximizing effectiveness and efficiency around how we use our main ESP/CRM tool (currently Emarsys) in order to reach our revenue and learner engagement goals, incl. maintenance, streamlining & troubleshooting of our systems
  • Own & lead the relationship with Emarsys around all usage-related tech & data topics
  • Coordinate implementation of new features and tools in the CRM tech stack
  • Proactively develop & drive our CRM tech & data strategy in close collaboration with our dedicated CRM Platform agile team and prioritize initiatives based on our overall company strategy, in tech & data as well as in general
  • Improve data accessibility and utilization by the CRM team
  • Build and maintain successful relationships across all key departments/stakeholders

You have

  • 3+ years of CRM/Email Marketing experience, ideally in an online subscription business, with a strong focus on the tech & data aspects of the area
  • Familiarity with at least one of the key ESPs (Emarsys is a distinct advantage), as well as understanding of the technical capabilities & requirements of an ESP/CRM tool and its API integrations
  • Familiarity with email best practices, setting up & implementing automated cross-channel campaign flows, triggered messaging, optimization through A/B/n testing and list segmentation
  • Data-driven mindset combined with good analytical thinking, good understanding of the main KPIs related to the customer lifecycle as well as our main communication channels
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Python or even a background in Analytics
  • Fluency in English
  • Great communication skills & strong collaborator, inside and outside of our own team, willingness to build strong relationships with stakeholders while working remotely & on-site
  • A – sometimes hacky – can do mindset: you love solving problems, finding novel or better ways of doing something and helping others create a top notch customer experience for our learners

Nice to have

  • Good knowledge of relational databases
  • Advanced Excel/Google Spreadsheets skills (e.g. pivot tables and vlookup)
  • HTML/CSS coding skills, as well as experience in working with AMP/kinetic emails
