Accounting at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) deals with the accounting of commodity issues within the scope of the global RWE trading business, as well as the segment statements of RWEST.
Within the Commodity Accounting function, Trading, Gas and LNG are responsible for the closing of the trading desks, while Exchanges serves as central accounting hub for all exchanges related topics.
As part of the Exchanges team you are responsible for:
- Support monthly and quarterly closing processes for the exchange accounting as well as transactions between trading desks (interdesk) within the RWEST, in particular in the areas of electricity, gas and CO2
- Projects for the continuous development of the E2E exchange process together with back office clearing and other stakeholders
- Support of new product processes and company-wide projects (e.g. liquidity measures, new stock exchanges, clearing bank changes)
- Contribute and drive projects in cooperation with other RWEST accounting teams
- Analysis and internal reporting of margin and cash balances
- Management requests and being a contact to the auditor
- Prepare reports for the foreign trade regulation notification and further development of internal processes (Z10, support Z4)
Your powerful skills
- Economics degree (e.g. business administration, business informatics, industrial engineering, etc.) or similar qualification (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter, ACCA)
- Good user knowledge of MS Access, MS Power Query or PL/SQL
- Experience in accounting in the energy sector and in the commodity trading business or banking, ideally related to exchange traded products
- Experience with internal projects to improve processes and data quality
- Very good understanding of how exchanges, derivatives and margining work
- Very good user knowledge in MS Excel and SAP FI
- Independent, structured, solution-oriented and analytical way of working
- Good language skills in English
Advantageous, but not a must
- German is a plus
