DL Chemical ( Kraton is part of DL Chemical) is among the market leaders in the petrochemical industry. As part of the DL Group, one of the major conglomerates in Korea with their business lines extend to engineering & construction, petrochemical, energy, automotive & motorcycles, leisure & culture, IT, and education.

DL Chemical produces various products such as polyethylene (PE) and polybutene (PB) with global sales and marketing activities. We expand our sales force to the European region with hiring a Sales Manager for the European market to drive the growth ambition. In this role you are pioneering and developing a new customer pool and strengthen the sales of DL Chemical’s products.

The headquarters of DL Chemical is located in Seoul, South Korea. This role is based in The Netherlands or Germany and can be fully remote or hybrid (in combination with the Amsterdam/Almere office).
Key Responsibilities
New Customer/Application Market Pool Expansion:
Market
  • Establish and carry out sales strategies through market intelligence analysis and communication with headquarter (analysis of competitors & establishment of counter-strategies).
  • Define customer needs and product value end use for customers in Europe (Germany, Italy, Spain, France, etc.) and develop solutions.
  • Further expand the sales volume of newly developed PE product (Metallocene LLDPE, BOCD, POP, PERT) by developing a new customer pool in Europe.

Product & Application
  • C6mPE & BOCD applicable customer development and fulfill sales performance (Agricultural Film, Lamination (Food/Non-food packaging), Film, Stretch Wrap/Hood, Shrink Film, Container Liner Film, Heavy Duty Sack Film, etc.
  • POP applicable customer development and fulfill sales performance (Compounding for Automotive, Impact Modifier, Wire & Cable, Shoe sole), Lamination (Food/Non-food packaging adhesive, Low SIT), etc.
  • Develop new application proposals besides above, through a value chain analysis.

Sales
  • Manage complex accounts who buy (multiple) products (operation rate, purchasing status, updates on competitors’ strategies, etc.) and expand sales volume by analyzing customers’ goals and needs.
  • Create a (new) customer pool, develop strategies, solutions, and a commercial business model to achieve business growth.

Marketing Support
  • Insight discovery through market/technical trend comprehension & competitor trend analysis on a regular basis
  • Development and sharing of data source for an advanced analysis on the anterior and posterior industry in Europe, per main region/application
  • Make use of personal network and provide information on customer analysis & specialists/experts in Europe
  • Reinforcing customer relationship and gathering information for successful Strategic Account Management.
  • Present insight through European market research and draw maximum sales/revenue from data-driven market forecasts and optimization of strategic mixture.
Required Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preferred in PE Sales & Marketing or equivalent petrochemical industry
  • Experience with and a customer network in the PE business in Europe
  • Fluent in English
  • Deep understanding of polymer engineering, polymer properties, processing and polymer additives and knowledge of PE products
  • Skilled negotiator
  • Sell and deliver results that meet or exceed individual goals
  • Ability to commercialize new business through market analysis
  • Ability to promote products tailored to customer needs
  • Ability to internally communicate customer’s requests or complaints
  • Build relationships and influence inside stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives
Education, Certifications & Licenses
Bachelors’ degree in chemical engineering or chemical related preferred
