The Opportunity  

This position works out of our Baar location in the Abbott Diabetes Care. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. 

Your Tasks:

  • Continually improve effectiveness and customer orientation of our sales teams – across SFE topics such as Customer Segmentation, Visit & Call Planning, Training and Sales Performance Management  
  • Lead and implement new sales initiatives and projects to drive commercial performance, also across functions
  • Work closely with General Manager ACH and the ACH Leadership Team to ensure commercial strategy is translated into Sales Force execution
  • Work with Commercial, Marketing and Sales to identify and drive opportunities to innovate our sales model – including account management, new channels, etc., and develop incentives to support execution and ensure return-on-investment
  • Continue to improve customer segmentation alongside Sales and Marketing, considering both customer value and behaviour, to ensure execution of segment priorities and marketing messages
  • Continually assess and improve SFE of the sales team, including:
    • Refine and adjust sales territory allocation
    • Design optimal visit planning and frequency – linked to clear sales activities and objectives
    • Optimize coverage models to improve customer coverage
  • Drive improvement in our sales tools (CRM, Sales Dashboard, Next-Best-Action Models etc.) and train and support sales in applying tools
  • Drive regular Sales Performance Management (alongside ACH Sales Managers), including development & use of Dashboards and relevant key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Work with EMEA and Global Commercial Excellence Teams to deploy regional and global commercial initiatives in Austria and Switzerland
  • Perform all activities according to Abbott guidelines & policies, and ensure all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements

Your Qualification:

  • MBA or equivalent post graduate diploma or University degree and relevant job experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in similar roles within the Pharmaceutical and/or MedTech industry and/ or experience in consulting
  • Experience in sales and/or Sales Force training a strong asset
  • Strong experience in core Sales Force Effectiveness methods and approaches - preferably in Pharmaceutical and/or MedTech industry (territory alignment, coverage modelling and experience with core Sales Force effectiveness etc.)
  • Analytical and business intelligence skills: ability to analyze data to translate market insight from internal and external sources into powerful insights (experience with use of Analytics models and PowerBI preferred)  
  • Strong experience in design and adoption of CRM solutions; preferably in Pharmaceutical and/or MedTech industry (experience with use of Veeva preferred)
  • Strong project or program management skills and successful experience in matrix
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in German & English is a must, additional languages (French or Italian) preferred
