The Opportunity

Abbott Diabetes Care Division, (Abbott GmbH) has an opportunity for a Regional Customer Insights Lead EMEA (m/f/d) based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

In this role you will conduct primary market research in order to provide market and competitive insights to the Diabetes Care division. Collaborate with stakeholders within strategic and commercial marketing to support the business in making insights-driven recommendations. Success within this position will be achieved through rigorous application of market research methodologies and analysis (in partnership with outside vendors) and development of business understanding in order to identify strategic insights around key priorities.

What You’ll do:

  • Collaborates with global commercial teams across EMEA region to define and execute learning needs that are aligned to organizational goals.
  • Understands the marketplace, competitor dynamics and brings the voice of the customer to life with global business partners.
  • Leverages multiple sources of data and types of research to build conviction on your teams that drives action in our global markets.
  • Develops and executes necessary learning plans, distills the insights, and crafts a compelling narrative to create customer focused strategy and drive execution within the region.
  • Develops deep knowledge of key market events, competitive environment, and changes in consumer trends.
  • Finds creative and compelling ways to generate, present, and evangelize results and recommendations throughout the company, in order to help cultivate a highly informed, more effective, and more empathetic organization.
  • Connect the dots between disparate pieces of research to develop prescriptive recommendations on how to grow the business.

Qualifications and background:

  • University degree in related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience working in primary market research.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of SPSS is highly desirable.
  • Whole brained thinker who combines data with deep empathy and strong storytelling.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate dynamic project scopes.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to carry multiple projects at any given time.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with interdependent cross-functional and global teams.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as required. Estimated international travel is one trip each quarter ( 20-25% of working time).
  • Someone who approaches challenges with possibilities thinking and a learning mindset.
  • Strong business acumen.
