You will be working as R&D Technical Manager and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Process Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D/Technology Manager and will be responsible for supporting strategic corporate technology direction and future product or software or solution architecture. Initiating and driving technology, software, product or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area or a broad range of skills in a technical or product field. Managing or coordinating development projects or activities of substantial impact to the business. Acting as the first line contact in R&D or software development product engineering for in-depth product or technology related issues.
Your responsibilities
- Designing and developing new products as well as maintaining of legacy products and will be responsible for conceptualization, designing, developing, testing and deploying of web and windows applications
- Understanding the market requirements, developing functional requirements and selecting appropriate technology and supporting development and testing of the application
- Providing broad technical software support and training, if required to clients using ABB solution primarily in the cement and mining industry
- Working with project managers, global stakeholders, product managers to define scope, features and estimates for new projects
- Working directly on development tasks, providing technical leadership, coordinating with other resources and creating high quality products within the defined schedules and budgets
- Developing the product design for the applications under development and becoming proficient at installing, configuring and troubleshooting the software
- Doing software implementation on key areas should the need arise or if team needs support, reviewing of the implementation to ensure that the functionality adhering to design and is of a high quality
- Understanding, analyzing and helping the development team on customer cases related to existing releases of Knowledge manager products along with communicating with management & stakeholders on the planning and progress of activities
Your background
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science/ software engineering/equivalent
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in C#, .Net, ASP.NET MVC, .Net core along with expertise in scripting languages javascript, jquery, typescript and angular with hands on experience in Oracle
- Having architected and designed web-based software applications and desktop software applications
- Exposure to real-time industrial automation domain, particularly OPC-UA or DA and modbus TCP along with expertise in the development of real-time, multi-threaded applications
- Knowledge of oracle database and SQL
- Experience in handling AJAX, LINQ, ADO.Net and entity framework along with experience in development environment (Azure DevOps, Visual Studio)
- Experience interfacing programmatically with SAP or other ERP systems and process industry knowledge would be a plus
