Apex Legends is looking for a Quality Designer to join our Quality Verification testing team. In this position you will have end-to-end ownership of the preflight build testing strategy. You will be responsible for documenting QV practices, processes and resources throughout the game development cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with development and production partners to understand requirements.

  • Managing preflight improvement delivery goals, timelines, milestones and more.

  • Document analyze data and outcomes to provide reporting and project long term outcomes.

  • Validate builds are usable by development by both manual testing and evaluating automated build results.

  • Work with other feature team leads and development partners to establish stability SLAs and report on progress.

  • You will create working relationships with other Feature Team leads to collaborate on dependency agreements, inform partners of upcoming changes, and call out any risks or gaps in quality strategies.

  • You will research, analyze and compile data points spanning multiple consoles into cohesive and consumable summaries that measure performance KPIs and demonstrate impact to overall performance of the game.

  • You will build out team timelines and roadmaps to reflect milestone deadlines, scheduled playtests, and season-over-season goals.

  • Delegate responsibilities in the team to ensure the agreed work will be delivered according to plan and at quality.

  • You are a mentor for peers, assisting with and growing their knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of applicable work experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of software/game development.

  • Previous experience with build pipelines and/or BVTs a big plus.

  • Ability to work with small-to-medium-scale teams and cross-dependency peers.

  • Experience with quality tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and TestRail.

  • Perforce or other collaboration tool experience a plus.

  • Scripting or automation experience is a plus.

  • Experience working within a continuous delivery or continuous deployment model.

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $78,500 - $119,650 USD Annually
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $73,150 - $119,650 USD Annually
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $84,750 - $119,650 USD Annually
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $73,150 - $97,500 USD Annually
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $73,150 - $105,250 USD Annually
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $63,350 - $98,800 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
