Purchasing Agent

Your Skills

The Purchasing Agent will assist management in developing, aligning, and implementation of several different strategies to deliver best in class results with regards to tactical Purchasing activities for Schindler in USA.

This role works closely with several HQ functions (HR, safety, Payroll, Compliance, Labor Relations, NI, MOD, EI, Finance) and other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently executes Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders based on clear inputs from requestors
  • Employee will train for all listed responsibilities
  • Enter orders into the order management system. Review and interpret customer purchase orders to determine the requirements of the order
  • Communicate with Customers to clarify order requests
  • Effectively communicate via written and verbal instructions to downstream employees performing required work
  • Work as a member of the Team to support operations and Customers to deliver high level of service
  • Process control, compliance, continuous improvement

Your Experience

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business & Technology, Management, Engineering or related field
  • Positive attitude to keep focused on solutions for customers both internal and external.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
  • Flexible schedule can be accommodated, work from home after training period, but may need to work based out of a Schindler office
  • Support in recognizing, isolate and solve problems that improve company’s overall performance
  • Work closely with external partners/vendors and internal departments
