We are looking for a Project Manager who will work in Wärtsilä Marine Ship Electrification Solutions (SES) in our Korean team located in Busan. As a Project Manager within SES, you will be get involved a variety of integrated electrical systems including shaft generator systems, battery hybrid and full electric solutions to newbuild segments. You will belong to project team through all stages from engineering design to delivery and commissioning of a project in the newbuilding segment. In this role you will be reporting to the local Engineering Manager whilst technically this new position will be closely work with Project team in Germany, Norway and China within Wärtsilä SES team.
What will you be doing:
Project Manager will follow Wärtsilä package integrated projects which include mainly shaft generator projects and complicated electric propulsion project, integrated hybrid/battery systems project execution in Korea.
- Leading, managing, and developing your assigned project team based on Wärtsilä Project Management manual and milestones.
- Planning and leading the execution of assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle from start-up to project closure for example:
- Leading the engineering phase to align customer functional requirements and expectations with your engineering team and managing the integration of sub-systems both within our product line as well as across other Wärtsilä product lines to meet customer requirements and expectations.
- Managing the procurement and delivery phase together with your assigned procurement, logistics, and trade finance team members.
- Planning and managing the commissioning phase to ensure field service team members demonstrate system operation for customer final acceptance.
- Preparing detailed project plan and scheduling for identified projects and revising, catch-up plans for running projects where required.
- Steering the project and work with the team to solve any challenges that may arise.
- Working in a multi-product team across geographic areas on leading technology solutions for the marine industry.
- Monitoring and controlling project budget overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and forecasting.
- Representing Wärtsilä to our customers ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction to expand our prospects.
- Managing and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders from suppliers to customers.
- Identifying and managing project risks and lessons learnt and ensuring that all opportunities are identified and followed.
- Coordinating with field service team, monitoring, and controlling of installation, testing, pre-commissioning of supplied equipment's at various sites and submission of reports to customer.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in an electrical systems / automation engineering.
- Min. 5 years’ experiences in Marine Power Electric System or Marine Control Systems as a Project Manager.
- Good understanding of customer’s needs in Ship Electrification Solutions.
- Understanding of the key project methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMBoK.
- Excellent in English, written and verbal.
- Fluent in Korean, written and verbal.
- Willingness of traveling to customer site, mainly Korean shipyards to clarify issues and negotiate with customers.
