Your responsibilities
Asset Parameter Optimisation (APO) team focuses on maximizing the value of our existing assets by realizing short and mit-term opportunities and ensuring highly reliable, efficient and compliant operations across the interface between Energy Assets, Power Trading, Strategic Customer Solutions and other teams. APO provides steering and guidance based on state-of-the-art optimization tools and contingent systems to improve Uniper's ability to market its assets, products or services.
As a Portfolio Analyst at Uniper, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the value and optimizing our power stations across Germany. Serving as a vital link between our physical assets and commercial teams, your primary focus will be on the German market, with opportunities to engage in projects spanning other key Uniper markets like the UK, Sweden, and the Netherlands. In this dynamic role, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the power business value chain and refine your skills in optimizing physical assets. Additionally, you will be instrumental in implementing Uniper's new strategic initiatives, particularly in integrating sustainable green assets into our existing portfolio.
Your Responsibilities:
- Optimization of all value drivers on asset level by close co-operation with Energy Assets, Power Trading, Strategic Customer Solutions, Business Controlling, Market Risk and other teams
- Delivery of best available information on plant availability including optimal outage planning from a technical and commercial point of view, marginal costs and other plant parameters to Trading
- Integrate new assets (e.g., batteries, hydrogen) into APO team processes, such as asset position update, and optimization activities
- Development and implementation of reliable and efficient processes, controls & systems for accurate and timely nominations to Power Trading
- Establishment of an excellent working relationship particularly with Power and Energy Assets, as well as with all Uniper regions, and management & improvement of these interfaces on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal asset performance and risks mitigation
- Continuously improve and ensure up-to-date reflection of asset capabilities in asset data bases and models
- Development and operation of optimization tools and contingent systems to improve Uniper's ability to market its assets, products or services with focus on mid-term period
- Contribute to driving the business area’s digital transformation journey forward
Your profile
- University degree in engineering, economics or comparable studies
- 1–3 years of relevant working experience in the energy industry, ideally in generation and/or trading
- Good knowledge of energy markets and asset performance
- Excellent knowledge of Office (especially Excel, Power BI, Power Point) and basic knowledge of programming skills such as VBA or SQL are beneficial
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex topics and describe them in an understandable manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills applied in an international environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and confidently handle diverse topics in parallel
- Highly reliable and structured working manner
- Team player with strong interpersonal, intercultural skills and "can do” attitude
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Fluent German (minimum C1). Swedish, or Dutch is advantageous
