Material Planner (f/m/d)

The Material Planner handles end-to-end planning of inventory in excess of invoicing, from purchase requisition to customer invoice, assisting internal customer service inquiries. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Material Planning, you will set inventory parameters and inventory targets, while making sure that there is adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

Your responsibilities

  • Controlling manufacturing orders and customer orders in production. Determining production deadlines considering customer requirements, material availability and available capacity
  • Working in close connection with Production and Engineering Departments, and taking appropriate action with others to optimize processes
  • Ensuring trouble-free material availability. Dispositioning of parts/materials according to quantity and schedule
  • Segmenting the materials portfolio through ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy, and defining inventory policies
  • Calculating and maintaining inventory parameters in planning systems and ERP systems: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies
  • Working with buyers to get the best supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, lead time, and flexibility
  • Managing materials resource planning exception messages and assisting in cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting

Your background

  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Planning and Logistics processes and methodologies as well as strong knowledge of SAP (MM & PP), preferably key-user level
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Outlook, Excel
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Possess strong team-player skills and accountability of projects
  • Ability to multi-task, change priorities and work in high pace manufacturing environment independently
  • Fluent spoken and written German
