Your contribution to TenneT

Energy System Planning is a future-oriented unit, optimized to react to fast-changing external conditions. We develop a vision for a climate-neutral energy system of the future and how our onshore/offshore electricity system can adapt to these challenges in the smartest way.

In the team of Robert Kuik we've an opening for a Lead Grid Planningfor high voltage. In this position you are responsible for the overall Grid Planning of the 150/110kV grid. Your responsibility:

  • Overall leadership and functional steering of the Dutch team High Voltage (consisting of 23 FTE’s and 14 direct reports), responsible for coaching, inspiring and developing employees;
  • Accountable for regulated and non-regulated analyses of the high voltage network, identification of future grid constraints, analysis of possible adjustments to the network, definition of possible solution directions and to contribute to the biannual investment plan;
  • Your team contributes to investment proposals (G1 documents), arguing the need and necessity of the solution, identifying and weighing different alternatives and proposing a preferred alternative;
  • Responsible for the identification and supervision of system-related feasibility studies for capacity expansions and the communication of these studies with connected parties, regional grid operators and competent authorities;
  • Accountable for drafting, maintaining and managing HV Grid Planning standards;
  • You act as a sparring partner for the subteamlead Customers and are together responsible for close cooperation within the team relating to overall team development, team culture, process alignment and knowledge exchanges within the team.

Your profile and background

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable;
  • Several years of professional experience and excellent knowledge about Grid Planning principles and functioning of the energy system;
  • Experienced in managing highly educated professionals, and you are a true leader who is coaching, developing and inspiring people;
  • Able and keen on leading a department according to the TenneT Leadership Profile;
  • Proven strategic and analytical skills and are result-oriented, decisive stress-resistant and organizational sensitive;
  • Experience in acting on a strategic and tactical level and are a respected partner for peer managers and external stakeholders (e.g. public authorities, regulation);
  • Well-developed communication skills in an international environment with excellent skills in both English and Dutch;
  • Build and maintain sustainable relations at all levels in- and outside TenneT and you are a bridge builder who can switch between what the department needs and what the environment can offer.

Additional information

  • The weekly working time is 40 hours.
  • The position is indefinite.

  • Maximum salary of € 11.404,- gross per month (grade 19) based on a fulltime agreement.
