Our Team:

Within the Synthetics platform of Sanofi’s Global CMC organization we are offering a position for a Laboratory Head as parental leave replacement.

The scope of the position is to adopt established dissolution tests and also to develop new innovative in vitro release assays. Respective in vitro release data is key to support our formulation development and to better understand preclinical as well as clinical data. Moreover, the data will be used as an important input factor for in vivo predictions using in silico modelling and simulation software.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform scientific laboratory experiments in the innovative in vitro release laboratory of the Frankfurt Biopharmacy team.
• Lab management - including equipment, documentation and HSE responsibilities. Supervise the installation and maintenance of apparatuses in the Biopharmacy laboratories.
• Leadership skills, motivation and surveillance of interns and lab technicians.
• Develop new in vitro release assays according to project needs.
• Perform and evaluate dissolution and other in vitro release studies.
• Project Management: Act as Biopharmacy Team representative in Early Development project teams.
• Summarize, present, discuss and defend results in internal and external presentations.
• Be up to date on scientific biopharmaceutical publications and implement new innovative methodologies.
• Support and guide formulation development by biopharmaceutical assessments.
• Implement analytical methods in collaboration with analytical experts.
• Close collaboration with partner departments such as Medicinal Chemistry (IDD), Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacology.
• The work will be performed in an international environment with colleagues from different sites around the globe, especially located in US, France and Germany.
• Collaboration with local and international external partners as well as academic experts and institutes.

About you

Education and professional Experience

• University degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or related Natural Sciences.

Soft skills

• Experience in collaborations in an international setting preferred.

Technical skills

• At least 2 years laboratory experience including compendial in vitro release studies.
• At least 1 year experience in biopharmaceutical Modelling & Simulation - on dedicated software such as GastroPlus - and Pharmacokinetics.

Languages

• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English.
• German language skills favorable.
