Your purpose
As the Junior Sommelier of Spectrum**, you'll artfully guide guests through an extraordinary journey, curating a wine selection that complements Chef Sidney Schutte's Michelin-starred creations. Your purpose is to creatively enhance the overall dining experience, delighting guests with a perfectly matched symphony of flavors. What will I be doing?
Craft personalized and immersive wine pairings for each guest, elevating their dining experience to new heights.
Innovate by suggesting unique and lesser-known wines that perfectly complement Chef Schutte's latest culinary creations.
- Collaborate closely with the Restaurant Manager to curate exceptional wine selections tailored to the ever-evolving menu.
- Actively engage with guests, sharing captivating stories and insights about the origin, production, and nuances of selected wines.
- Continuously expand your knowledge of the wine world, staying abreast of emerging trends and sharing newfound expertise with the team.
- Elevate sales and contribute to achieving departmental targets through innovative upselling techniques and a genuine passion for exceptional service.
- Attend engaging and informative wine training sessions within the hotel.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop special wine pairings for seasonal events or promotions.
- Embrace the role as a brand ambassador, embodying the spirit of Spectrum's commitment to Dutch heritage and culinary excellence.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an Junior Sommelier to strengthen our young and vibrant team, someone who is willing to strive for perfection and do so with passion and enthusiasm. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills and values that follow:
- Experience as a Sommelier in the luxury hotel/Michelin starred restaurant
- Pristine grooming standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion and commitment to delivering exceptional levels of guest service
- Ability to work on your own or in teams
- Sommelier qualifications (WSET or else)
