Condé Nast is seeking a Digital Editor for Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) Germany.
The Digital Editor will be expected to ideate, commission, edit and write dynamic and innovative content to drive editorial excellence and audience growth. The successful candidate will need a keen understanding of SEO, analytics, an eye for catching early trends, as well as an always-in-the-know mind-set. Ability to work across markets (and time zones) is important and speed and accuracy in reporting are a must. The Digital Editor will collaborate with CNT global editors to create on-brand stories and packages across platforms (digital, print, social, video, podcast etc). A network of world class writers and correspondents is also required. This role reports into German HEC.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Ideate, commission, write, edit, and build engaging content out of strong editorial ideas, while maintaining and building a strong bank of excellent international writers
Work alongside the team on CNT’s social, newsletter and video strategy - bringing new ideas and data-led learnings to social and video content
Lead CNT’s daily Digital Editorial calendar, maintaining the publishing schedule and seeing content ideas through from ideation to publication
Monitor performance and analytics when needed; help build weekly & monthly reports.
Work with affiliate writer to support CNT’s ecommerce strategy, planning for key moments.
Work with commercial teams to help execute native advertising ideas and offer commercial solutions on a regular basis.
Act as an ambassador of the brand both internally and externally
Work collaboratively with CNT Digital Editors in global teams on key tentpoles and global franchises, as well as weekly content sharing
Lead weekly email planning, collaborating closely with email and audience development leads on optimization and growth initiatives
Work closely with the social manager on social channels
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Strong writer with experience editing copy and multi-platform content and working to strict deadlines
Expertise with social platforms and SEO
Experience using and acting on data collected from key analytics tools
Proven track record of traffic building
Understanding of affiliate revenue and the importance of ecommerce strategies
Exceptional communication and writing skills with keen attention to detail
Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Adaptable, and able to generate fresh ideas across different briefs
Understanding of the Condé Nast Traveller brand and the digital landscape
Experience using a content management system
A global address book on-brand writers and stringers, as well as a robust network of contacts within the travel and luxury industries and relationships with celebrities, chefs, artists and other tastemakers
English and German language proficiency
