What you’ll do

The ABAP Language team at Business Technology Platform ABAP (BTP ABAP) is an expert group dedicated to refining and advancing the ABAP programming language. As SAP's own programming language and central asset, ABAP plays a crucial role in developing business applications in the SAP ecosystem, standing as the industry standard and most widely used programming language in enterprise software.

We are actively seeking skilled developers (f/m/d) to join our ABAP Compiler team. As a C++ developer (f/m/d) specializing in programming languages and compiler design, you will be entrusted with applying innovative advanced computing solutions to enhance ABAP's language and programming paradigms.

Your responsibilities:

• Join the ABAP Compiler colleagues to enhance the ABAP programming language by analyzing industry trends in compiler design and bringing superior robustness and performance to the ABAP compiler.
• Add features and syntax to the ABAP programming language, to make it attractive and competitive for developing business and general-purpose software.
• Work on the ABAP Cloud programming model, the de facto standard for developing new ABAP applications.

Join our dynamic ABAP Language team, and work in developing the most widely used business programming language.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or relevant coursework and certifications
• Proficiency in programming languages, particularly C/C++ or Rust
• Previous work experience, showcasing development projects in C++ is highly valued
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are vital, emphasizing the ability to work effectively within a team
• Fluency in both German and English is a prerequisite for this role
