3 years PhD position at Heidelberg University (1st year funded through HIDDEN, 2nd and 3rd years other funding sources). The position is foreseen to start in January 2023. The deadline for applications is 20th of November

Development and characterization of low temperature micro-calorimeters for neutrino physics

Objective: Development of detectors to be used in experiments for the determination of neutrino properties. The candidate will be part of a team of experts in detector fabrication and characterization and acquire the knowledge for optimizing detectors to be developed for application in experiments to determine the neutrino mass and nature.

Responsiblities:

  • Perform research in a team of PhD students and young researchers
  • Meet the members of the supervisory team on a regular basis
  • Participate in the activities of the Network as specified in the Grant Agreement and/or required by the node coordinator, including secondments in other network nodes and taking part in the network meetings and in the training activities
  • Write up the results of the research activity and present research papers and publications at meetings and conferences, as advised by the supervisors.

This is measured from the date when you obtained the degree which would formally entitle you to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country of destination.
  • Mobility Rule: researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
