Purpose of the job:

In charge of Cost controlling and Work packages related cost. Provide clear and transparent data on cost to date and at completion and ensure the necessary conditions for achievement of the WP’s financial targets.

The Industrial Work Package Controller will diligently and professionally manage the financial accounts of the work packages (on and/or off shore scope) for hour booking and sourcing work package in execution and until FAC or formalised handover and supporting the work package owners (and other project functions) as the finance partner. The jobholder will also ensure effective reporting and controlling of the work package under the own responsibility i.e. to ensure adequate controls and processes are in place to meet all of the Company’s requirements and that the accounting for the project is in accordance with the Company’s guidelines and instructions.

Key accountabilities

 

I Cash Flow, Cost and Margin Management

  • Monthly Analysis of Actual Cost incurred and compare with the Forecast and analysing the Gaps.
  • Co - ordination with Supply Chain department regularly to monitor the Cost progress. In particular help the team with the follow up of invoices to be processed in Accounts Payable, in the group tool “Inspire”.
  • Review every week the hours booked, and coordinate with the site performance team the correct and timely booking of hours.
  • Monitor the extra Cost of the project which are subject to claim and have regular meetings with the Claims Department to follow up.
  • Review and validate QCD performance vs commitment for WP to be delivered by PL and provide gap analysis (scope of change, performance variance, improper costing at tender stage…)
  • Provides transparency of financial elements consolidated in WP vs WP completion forecasts, ensure Industrial and manufacturing risks are properly assessed and mitigation plans in place
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and prevent and alert of any deviance vs budget and forecasts
  • Follow financial results of action plans for costs reduction
  • Help the work package owner reforecast cost to completion as appropriate and recon ciliate budget figures
  • Follow up and control costs to completion

 

II Reporting and Coordination

  • Provides all WP financial reporting and benchmark by products family: average cost, productivity, ratio, delivery on time ratio, CONQ evolution
  • Interface with WP manager on cost evolution in coordination with cost managers and project controller and challenges 
  • Works closely with Project controller, local accounting teams and central controlling teams.
  • Act as an interface with Operations especially WP manager and cost managers on follow up of cost evolution related to WP, cost reduction opportunities …

III Financial Administration

  • Ensure that WP approval process is strictly compliant with Transport and PL rules
  • Ensure proper reporting in the group reporting tools (Teranga, OdyC, Polaris) 

IV Management

  • Provide management with reliable financial data in order to assist in the decision-making.
  • Ad-hoc reporting on Work package.
