The Human Resources Director will partner with the Dominican Republic site leadership team and the VP, Manufacturing East Region, South sub-platform, and the global enabling functions across GOSC to deliver strong talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness strategies to maximize short- and long-term business performance for the Dominican Republic manufacturing sites and the South sub-platform.
In this role, you will partner with HR COEs to ensure effective execution of programs and initiatives in talent acquisition, culture, inclusion, diversity and equity, performance management, talent management, learning and development, employee relations, total rewards, change management, and organization effectiveness.
This role reports to the Sr. HR Director for the East Americas Manufacturing Region.
A Day in the Life
As the HR Director, you will: lead a team of HR Business Partners to develop and deploy people strategies to maximize performance across the Dominican Republic and East manufacturing region, South sub-platform.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
· Drive organizational health, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity and culture initiatives.
· Identify and plan for future talent needs. Strengthen and support strategic workforce planning, succession planning and talent readiness.
· Provide strong people leadership to attract, develop and retain the HR talent necessary to provide optimized HR service for the manufacturing sites within region.
· Lead organizational transformation initiatives and drive the Site needs for change by partnering with the leadership team to elevate the performance culture. Advise leaders in the design and implementation of new organization structures to enable improved organizational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
· Counsel leaders consistent with Medtronic employee relations policies/practices, legal considerations, and company priorities. Ensuring compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
· Assist with the implementation and communication of Medtronic compensation and benefits programs; identify and develop innovative incentive/reward systems that address organizations' unique needs; and counsel business leaders to deliver rewards and recognition aligned with our pay for performance philosophy.
· Optimize HR Operating Model (HROM) through effective collaboration with COE Partners to drive value within the model.
· Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, market changes in Human Resources to assure HR policies and practices maintain competitiveness and compliance.
· Develop and monitor HR AOP and support Site financials as needed.
Qualifications - External
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
· Master’s degree and 8+ years of progressive business management experience, with exposure to high performing organizations, including best practices in HR.
Nice to Have
· Master’s degree in Business, I/O Psychology or Human Resources
· Recognized HR-related certification.
· Previous HR leadership roles in a high-growth, fast-paced business.
· Experience in HR strategy development and execution.
· Experience supporting a manufacturing operation.
· Breadth of experience across numerous roles/functions within Human Resources with demonstrated success in each area.
· Experience in developing and implementing large-scale change initiatives.
· Experience in a medical device or related healthcare industry
· Demonstrated business acumen.
· Must be able to travel 25-50% within the region.
