Head Of Accounting Operations (M/F/D)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional as the Head of Accounting Operations (m/f/d) for an ECB regulated Corporate Investment Bank in Frankfurt, Germany. As the Head of Accounting Operations (m/f/d), you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the ac-counting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance for the bank. This is a leader-ship role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent management skills, and a deep under-standing of the banking industry.

Responsibilities

1. Accounting Operations Management:

• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee the day-to-day Accounting Operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and compliance with regulatory requirements.

2. Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial reports to management, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
• Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide insights to senior management.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay updated with the latest regulatory requirements and accounting standards applicable to the banking industry in Germany.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory guidelines, such as Basel, IFRS, and other relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with internal audit and risk management teams to support internal and external audits and examinations.

4. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and manage a team of Accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a high-performing and motivated team.
• Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience in Accounting Operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance in an international financial institution or consulting firm
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards (HGB)
• Excellent understanding of banking products (FX and derivatives), and related accounting principles.
• Robust and clear communication style; ability to explain to senior management and senior front office staff any accounting-related matters
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in German, both written and spoken. German language proficiency is a hard requirement for this position.
