Key Responsibilities
- Support customer projects teams and Functional Safety Manager within independent Functional Safety Audit and Functional Safety Assessment.
- Ensure successful certification of GKN Functional Safety process.
- Support GKN plants within understanding and achieving ISO26262 compliance.
- Continuous review and improvement of GKN Functional Safety process for any update in Functional Safety state-of the art within Automotive industry.
- I3 Confirmation measures during development
- Approve global Functional Safety processes, templates and work instructions
- Institute, execute and maintain organization-specific rules and processes to achieve and maintain functional safety and to comply with the requirements of the ISO 26262 series of standards
- Execution of Functional Safety Audits
- Realize independent Fusa Audit & Assessment to ensure compliance towards ISO26262 within each customer application projects up from the beginning phase
- Supporting GKN Product Release procedure (incl. Veto rights in case of Functional Safety Issues).
- Support confirmation activities for Functional Safety work products from Engineering
- To institute and maintain a cross functional problem solving processes to ensure an adequate resolution of identified safety anomalies
- Close collaboration with GKN Product Safety and Integrity Office to ensure Functional Safety Culture at company level.
- Establish independent path to report potential Functional Safety issues directly from project level up to Product Safety representative.
- Decide based on the assessment results it shall be concluded whether the production is ready to produce safe products.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree of Engineering Sciences in the fields of mechatronics, electrical engineering or relevant equivalent
- Strong Knowledge of ISO26262 and Quality standards like A-SPICE
- Certification within ISO26262 is of benefit (e.g. Automotive Functional Safety Professional - AFSP
- More than 5 years proven experience in Functional Safety for Automotive Software/Electronics
- Proven experience within Company Level Safety Management, especially process development and training methods
