DHL Air (Austria) GmbH is a new cargo airline founded in 2021, and is a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL) Group. The prime focus of the airline is to operate for the EU network with a fleet of Boeing 757 aircraft. The headquarters of the airline is located in Vienna, main crew base is currently in Leipzig, delivering our customer promise of Excellence. Simply Delivered. During the course of a new project of adding four Boeing 767s to the existing fleet, we’re looking forward to expanding our staff in Vienna.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determining and maintaining guidance, data and procedures in the OM
  • Providing procedures for engine-out service ceiling and drift down altitudes
  • Providing instructions enabling the PIC to determine if the required all-engine climb gradient can be achieved during the departure phase of flight under the existing conditions
  • Defining, producing, customizing and/or distributing route and airport instructions or information, Company-NOTAMs and FMS databases, if applicable
  • Disseminates, in close cooperation with the Senior Director Flight Operations and the Chief Pilot, information to Flight Dispatch and/or to flight crew, in respect to payload restrictions and performance characteristics of DHL Air Austria airplanes, for all aerodromes used
  • Responsible for the complete system with the authorities within the operator’s structure
  • Responsible to check potential security issues associated with the application installed
  • Responsible for hardware and software configuration management
  • Responsible for ensuring that only valid version of data are installed on the EFB
  • Responsible for conducting internal quality control measures to ensure that all EFB administration personnel comply with the different procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy, integrity and reliability of performance related calculations, manuals and materials provided by internal & external suppliers and their quality auditing.
  • Responsible for the updates of applications according the published and approved procedures
  • Responsible of creating and updating the "EFB Policy and Procedures Manual”.
  • Responsible for the continuous development of EFB system
  • Check of potential security and functional issues associated with the EFB applications
  • Further development of EFB operational integration and authority approvals if required
  • Provision of EFB related documentation and flight crew training

YOUR TASKS:

  • Ensure completion of an analysis that addresses relevant operational factors prior to operating over any new route or into any new airport
  • Airport assessments and airport analysis: Evaluate, categorize, analyze, customize and setup of airport databases
  • Supports the Manager Flight Operations Support in all aspects of Flight Operations Engineering taks related to performance and weight & balance
  • Publication of these guidance, procedures and performance data in the OM (runway analysis) for airports of intended use
  • Advises the Senior Director Flight Operations and Chief Pilot in performance matters concerning the operation to new aerodromes
  • Manage and update the Flight Operations Manual Part C. Coordination of the development by other departments respectively developing individual chapters
  • Ensures the validity of all electronic navigational data bases, liaises with navigational chart and performance tool suppliers
  • Supervises and controls operational planning and control software
  • Maintain the aircraft documentation (Aircraft Document Folders)
  • Additional tasks as directed by the Manager Flight Operations
  • Participation and support in flight operational and cross-departmental projects
  • Coordination with local and global DHL entities to implement and keep operational applications and EFB operating system up to date
  • Managing, directing and administrating Flight Operations Systems (Aviobook, mPilot, Boeing OPT, ACARS/datalink, FMC database)
  • Creation of procedures and processes relating to his/her scope of competenceand procedures
  • Maintain a close co-operation with all relevant departments, authorities and external sources
  • Monitor effectiveness and performance of personnel and manpower requirements in his department
  • Monitor closely the development of new techniques, procedures and regulations
  • Develop documentation, forms, tables, procedures and software solutions to all aspects of flight operation and aircraft performance
  • Make sure, that the Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) are updated and serviceable
  • Is responsible for all flight operation engineering topics (performance and W&B)
  • To represent DHL Air Austria in national and international organisations

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Aircraft Performance and Operations Engineering experience
  • Knowledge of flight operational documentation, and regulatory requirements
  • High English and German language skills in both written and spoken form
  • Experience in dealing with aircraft manufacturer documentation
  • Proficiency in use of Flight Operations Systems IT tools
  • Experience in developing computer-based solutions to engineering problem
  • Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and simple way
  • To be highly self-motivated, flexible, can adapt on fast changing situations
  • Strong sense of responsibility and commitment
  • High level of motivation, flexibility and loyalty
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams
  • Practical experience with IQSMS and Web Manuals is an advantage
  • Able to handle a high workload in a tight timeframe and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Collaborative team player who also enjoys working autonomously
