JOB DESCRIPTION

The Expert Level Designer’s role is to produce strong open world locations and quests in an AAA production, with an influential role in surgical prototyping and benchmarking content.

Responsibilities

  • Craft exceptional quests and open world locations according to vision of the game
  • Share and document quest and level design knowledge with peers
  • Handle script lock and script review process with the narrative team
  • Drive and create level and quest design guidelines for technical systems and tools
  • Prototype vanguard solutions to new types of content, ingredients or tools in a highly technical environment
  • Create impeccable benchmark quests, activities or world locations for the team
  • Be a strong mentor to junior and intermediate designers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8 years of experience, ideally with 3 or more shipped AAA open world titles
  • Exceptional technical and creative skills in the level and quest design domain
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Craft exceptional game levels and quests with game engines and tools
  • Strong experience with crafting design guidelines (e.g. ingredients, metrics, activities, quest blocks, quest tools)
  • Strong sense of scoping and estimation
  • Some artistic background, formal or otherwise, 2D or 3D, is a big plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Script lock experience a plus
