You will define and lead the external communications strategy for Workday’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), partnering with key stakeholders across the company to drive thought leadership and build presence for Workday in the market as we help forward-thinking finance teams manage their people and their money. You will also drive strategic global employee communications for the CFO, weaving a common thread that engages, aligns, and inspires Workmates around our company’s core values (profitability, integrity, employees, innovation, fun, customer service), strategy and key business priorities. The Executive Communications Lead will be a critical member of the broader Global Corporate Communications team.

About You

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CFO and key stakeholders to create and drive an external thought leadership platform while identifying and supporting appropriate activities such as media briefings, customer-facing events, industry speaking opportunities, blogs, and more.
  • Partner with Investor Relations on internal and external communications around key Finance-related activities such as quarterly earnings, Financial Analyst Day, etc.
  • Plan, write, edit, and distribute a variety of global strategic employee-focused communications such as internal speaking engagements and video scripts.
  • Be a strategic adviser to the CFO on messaging, tone and speaker delivery, leveraging humor and fun to engage and inform whenever appropriate.
  • Establish and track metrics that show the impact of external and employee communications on employee engagement, productivity, and organization performance.
  • Help instill confidence in Workday and the future of the company across key stakeholder audiences.
  • Partner across Corporate Communications and other parts of the organization to ensure alignment of messages and narratives.

Qualifications and Background:

  • 10+ years working in Corporate Communications, including Executive Communications experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-tech company.
  • Proven success developing and executing strategic internal and external communications across a spectrum of channels; experience with event production and support is preferred.
  • Prior experience leading communications for a CFO is strongly preferred, having worked on key Finance-related activities such as quarterly earnings, Financial Analyst Day, etc.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
