As member of our Back Office Standard Derivative and Commodity Contracts team based in Essen you will gain a thorough understanding of RWEST’s trading portfolio and work closely with many other departments supporting the trade lifecycle.

We are mainly responsible for ensuring correct and effective contract administration, trade captures and settlement of transactions executed at global energy markets. Supervised products are physical power, gas and emission certificates as well as derivative transactions for different underlying commodities (Oil, Coal, Gas, Power, Metal, LNG and Weather). This is managed through day to day operation of contracts, managing relationships with counterparties & market operators whilst being closely interlinked with our Front Office.

• Perform daily operational activities with a high sense of self-responsibility:
• Monitoring and reconciliation of daily confirmation processes
• Monthly settlement activities of commodity transactions and handling of late payments
• Customer relationship management and communication regarding commodity trade handling and reporting for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. front office, counterparties, brokers)
• Close collaboration and coordination with other internal support functions such as Finance, Legal, Credit and Market Risk
• Support the implementation of new markets, products and automations
• Process documentation according to audit and compliance standards
• Pro-actively identifying process improvements and driving these forward within the team, closely liaising with stakeholders and developers
• Opportunity to travel to our office in UK and sometimes even further afield

Your powerful skills

• Commercial apprenticeship and/or university degree
• High sense of responsibility, readiness to take action, high flexibility, dedication and self-motivation
• Working accurately, independently and well-organised, capable of working to tight time-scales
• Solution oriented way of working in a constantly changing environment
• Committed to global team within a large multi-locational organisation working with good interpersonal skills
• Language Skills: Fluent English and German

Advantageous, but not a must

• Experience within an administrative role
• Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Working experience and/or knowledge of the energy sector
• Basic knowledge of IT software (ETRM, e.g. OLF ENDUR and ERP, e.g. SAP
