EHS Global Lead Third-Party (Senior Director)

Job Purpose:


The EHS Global Lead Third-Party is responsible for ensuring effective oversight and management of Environment Health & Safety (EHS) risk exposure across GSK’s third-party supply chain, improving continuity of supply to our patients and enhancing the reputation of GSK. Responsibility extends across Global Supply Chain, External Manufacture, Global Procurement and R&D prioritised to high patient-impact suppliers and Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs). The role develops strategy and leads a team of EHS professionals based in countries where key Third Parties are located. Activities also include support of Labour Rights risk understanding and improvement. The role is responsible for setting EHS expectations for all Third Parties contracted with GSK, including the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) process, contractual requirements and supporting risks and issues when they occur. This role works with leaders within business units across GSK to build awareness and ownership of EHS and Labour Rights.

Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Direct a team of professionals to ensure effective monitoring, oversight, and governance of EHS risk across all Third-Party suppliers and driving reduction in risk exposure at our highest risk suppliers
  • Design and deliver appropriate EHS assurance programs over a defined population of GSK high-risk Third Parties providing insights on the performance of key risk controls and potential risk exposures to GSK
  • Benchmark, create and deploy specific tools and interventions to monitor, assess and reduce Third-Party supplier EHS and Labour Right (LR) risk, including capability build
  • Work closely with key stakeholders in GSK Supply Chain and Procurement functions to develop risk insights and associated reduction strategies tailored to individual high-risk suppliers
  • Lead EHS submissions for Third-Party management into external GSK reports, regulatory requirements and ESG indices
  • Lead the delivery of agreed Sustainability and Labour Rights activities such as Pharmaceuticals in the Environment (PiE) and Labour Rights assessments
  • Deliver the external EHS Labour Rights audit program to provide a realistic assessment and reduction of GSK’s exposure to serious injury or fatal events in our high-risk Third-Party suppliers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering/ Master of Science, EHS or Engineering
  • Technical understanding of EHS and manufacturing process
  • 10 years of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience primarily in manufacturing
  • 5 years’ experience in EHS or Engineering leadership across multiple, global manufacturing sites Experience leading cross functional teams
  • Ability to influence behaviors and provide clear technical advice and direction at all levels from site shop floor to manufacturing senior leadership level
  • Ability to effectively lead and develop others in an
