We are looking for a Director Meetings & Events Optimization (m/f/d) for one of our areas, looking after our M&E Club teams in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational day to day delivery of M&E Hubs / Satellite offices serving Hotels within the M&E Club and commercial delivery of Groups and M&E business for the related hotels. The role optimises and will implement key M&E processes and projects to support meeting and events and group related revenues via consistent delivery within the teams.

Tasks

  • Review and analyse productivity of team members performance in line with RHG M&E KPI’s coach as appropriate or liaise with the Customer Service Team / Business Solutions Teams for formal training for the team as a whole or part of.
  • Responsible to manage day to day operations for the M&E Hub / Satellite Offices along with the M&E Club Managers to deliver the defined services - including enquiry handling from all clients via all channels, proposals/negotiations and conversion.
  • Responsible for monitor and delivery of Key M&E Hub KPI's.
  • Define M&E strategy along with revenue and Hotel GM for M&E related segments, and responsible for relative M&E Team action plans to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Secure consistent team delivery of related processes and procedures, analysis, strategical planning, and execution.
  • Conduct analysis on hotel M&E / BGR / BGO performance on an ongoing basis, ad hoc or as directed to and formulate recommendations for improving performance.
  • Assist the Hotel and Sales teams in their sales strategy to generate lead and referral of business by analysing current business, lost/denied business and identifying potential new business.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in meeting & Events, overseeing a high volume of employees ideally in a multi property setting
  • Strong communicator, understands how to motivate and coach to develop teams to reach set targets
  • Demonstrates ability to build rapport and influence effectively with internal stakeholders as well as external
  • High level of commercial awareness, with strategic ability and in depth knowledge of the M&E market and conditions
  • Experience of budgeting and forecasting process across large single site or ideally multi sites
  • Responsive to adapting strategies, style and approach as required by changes in business circumstance
  • Displays passionate problem-solving, collaborative and analytical abilities, highly organised and adept at prioritization
  • Experience gained in Meeting & Event training and/or presentation is an advantage
  • Business experience in an Meeting & Event hospitality related company/environment, with a focus on sales, leadership and M&E Operation experience in leading role
  • Fluent in one key languages in operating area (ideally German) and English and at ease with frequent travel
  • Enjoys working in a geographically dispersed and ‘matrix’ environment and can communicate effectively and concisely at all levels
  • Embraces challenging assignments, situations and opportunities that extend beyond their comfort zone.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience of using IT Systems on various platforms - knowledge in Opera, Emma PMS/S&C advantageous
