Director, Life Cycle Management

The Director, Life Cycle Management is responsible for setting up and developing the Life Cycle Management approach in the Service Division. This includes defining the way of working with the business lines of the Equipment and Solutions Division and different functions of the Global Service Division, and building the new Life Cycle Managers’ organization.

The main objective of the organization is to continuously improve the product-specific customer satisfaction and service capture rate by:

• Ensuring every new equipment delivered to customer has service support available from day one
• Optimizing the Life Cycle value of active and end of life equipment

Main tasks and responsibilities

Develop and implement product Life Cycle Management approach and processes with the stakeholders

• Set up a new way of working with the business lines, sourcing, and other stakeholders
• Define and ramp up the processes to define and implement maintenance, spare part, and training concepts with the stakeholders for all new products delivered to customers
• Develop a way of optimizing the product and service business performance during the Life Cycle
• Clarify and implement product/component end-of-life procedures 

Build and develop a strong and self-directed team of Life Cycle Managers

• Prioritize and agree on the product groups to proceed with (potential and readiness)
• Recruit the Life Cycle Managers according to the roadmap
• Onboard the stakeholders and Life Cycle Managers for the new way of working
• Enable the team to succeed and remove obstacles

Monitor and develop the service business performance from the product point of view

• Analyze the customer satisfaction and service business performance for growth opportunities
• Initiate and drive business development activities with the New Build and Service stakeholders
• Innovate service offerings and proactive sales procedures to maximize the Life Cycle value
   

What you’ll need to succeed

• Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or product management 
• 10+ years of experience in product management, sales, engineering, or aftermarket services
• Strong understanding of product Life Cycle Management principles and practices
• Experience with product development methodologies
• Experience with product Life Cycle Management (PLM) tools is a plus
• Understanding of spare parts and service operations
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
• Ability to think strategically and make sound business decisions
• Understanding of the customer's value drivers during the product Life Cycle
• Capability to navigate in complex organizational structure to get cross-functional work done
• Experience with engineering processes and business analysis
• Target-oriented and able to focus on essentials to reach goals.
