Are you an experienced leader with extensive expertise in Supplier Management, eager to drive the development and optimization of our Supplier Management process? Become a part of our tonietastic team and apply for the position of Director Global Supplier Management (all genders).Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Initiate, lead, and monitor global programs to improve tonies’ operational efficiency in cooperation with other departments and local markets
- Lead tonies’ Global Strategic Procurement and Supplier Performance Management on a strategic and operational level, which includes
- Ensuring robustness of our supplier base, considering quality, performance, cost, ESG, nearshoring, and geopolitical risk mitigation
- Ensuring suppliers are properly chosen and onboarded, and their performance is managed toward best-in-class status
- Ensuring we reach our budgetary cost targets for direct procurement and create an indirect material strategy and setup
- Ensuring our Supplier Management and procurement activities fully integrate with the product process and all internal functions
- Report to the COO on all strategic and day-to-day activities
- Lead a team in Germany and China, driving their personal development through coaching, mentorship, and effective leadership
- Work closely with the COO in building overall operations strategies and leading cross-functional projects
- 20% worldwide travel to partners and suppliers
- Execute budgetary responsibility for personnel, OPEX, and CAPEX within your teams
What we are looking for:
- We seek an execution-obsessed Architect who loves to build a grand global plan for our supply chain and lead its implementation
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role (Director or VP level) at a multinational medium or large-sized company in the Consumer Electronics (or similar) industry
- 8+ years of experience in both Supplier Management and strategic purchasing
- An engineering or manufacturing background is a plus
- Experience scaling a company’s operations with growth rates of ~40% p.a
- Proven track record of managing the manufacturing and logistical challenges connected to new product launches worldwide
- Ability to lead a remote team of 25+ people in Germany and China by being a proactive and excellent communicator
- Good balance between being a strategic thinker and being a person of action
- Willingness to relocate to Düsseldorf (Headquarters) or ensure regular office time
- Fluent in English; German is not a must but a benefit
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel worldwide on certain occasions
