This role can be done in a hybrid model from Wrocław.
Your role:
You will advise our colleagues around the world, maintain our IT systems in the library and support our users in accessing and using our databases. The Scientific Library offers mainly electronic content and a wide range of databases. You will advise users worldwide on how to use the various data sources in accordance with the license-agreements.
You will be responsible for negotiating contracts for e-journals, databases and standards. You will communicate with international publishers and database providers as well as with Merck's internal partners.
You will take care of the Library IT systems and the library portal on the intranet.
Who you are:
- Successfully completed studies in information science or library science.
- Confident use of databases and electronic media
- Experience of negotiating with publishers and database providers
- Knowledge of document delivery and copyright
- Strong customer and service orientation and enjoy dealing with international library users
- Networking and programming skills
- (Oracle SQL queries, Microsoft Sharepoint Designer, Tableau, Microsoft Internet Information Services)
- Ability to work independently with strong team and communication skills
