This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division. Our medical devices help more than 10,000 people have healthier hearts, improve quality of life for thousands of people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, and liberate more than 500,000 people with diabetes from routine fingersticks. What You’ll Work On
Responsible for the full range of controllership disciplines involving financial reporting; planning. Consolidations. Analysis and financial controls in support of various functional areas in Operations. Operations Controllerships covering the following functional areas:
- 1) QA/RA/MA/Ops Organizations and Engineering.
- 2) Global Supply Chain.
- 3) Plant Controllership.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- BUSINESS SUPPORT: Provide business support and financial counsel and direction to Functional DVP/Director based on area supported (e.g. DVP QA/RA/MA and Director of Engineering/DVP Global Supply Chain/Site Director) and their respective staffs. This includes support in the establishment of goals; strategies; priorities and tactics. Deputize for Divisional Controller. Operations as required supporting DVP/Director Operations and their staff.
- FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP: Set expectations of the financial organization's role in support of the business strategies; including alignment with other functional organizations. Manage the development; consolidations; analysis; and explanation/publication of Plan; Update; and LBEs of the Responsibility Income Statement; Investment Responsibility; Net Personnel; and Capital Authorizations / Cash Flow for Functional Area Supported. Manage the actual financial accounting and reporting for Functional Area Supported including ensuring the accuracy of financial information and related operational metrics including comparisons to appropriate benchmarks. Create ad hoc analysis for use in addressing business issues and strategic opportunities. •
- FINANCIAL CONTROL: Establish and maintain internal processes, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial assets and accuracy of financial statements and forecasts in compliance with Division/Corporate financial policies and procedures and SOX requirements.
- Accountable to functional DVP/Director or Divisional Controller for accurate and complete financial information in support of operational decisions and maintaining all required internal and external controls to safeguard Company Assets and comply with all financial and other requirements (SOX/CFMs/GMP etc). Accountable to the relevant functional DVP/Director for accurate and complete financial analysis in support of the functional Plans; Updates and actuals and maintaining all appropriate controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in finance or accounting
- CPA or MBA strongly encouraged.
Experience/Background
- Minimum 10 years of related experience or a Minimum 4 years plus an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Diverse financial experience including factory cost, operations support, FP&A, general accounting, and project support.
- Experience at the management level in finance managing people. Strong leadership and communication skills.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
