The Opportunity
The Commercial Finance Manager for Canada/LATAM and Global Operations will work out of our Princeton, NJ location in our Abbott Point of Care Division.
This role will will provide support for Canada, Latin America, Veterinary, Pharma Clinical Trials and Global Commercial Operations and is integral to the preparation and review of Plan, and Latest Business Estimate (LBE) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and will be called upon to adapt to changes in the business environment and/or commercial strategy, implementing solutions to meet the needs of the management team.
This role is also responsible for delivering analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by Area Leadership as well as presentation worthy performance summaries to be shared with senior leaders.
What you will work on
Lead implementation of strategy, scope, process, and programs related to financial planning and/or reporting.
Provide significant and positive impact to short-term, mid-range and long-term organizational goals.
Demonstrate continual improvement in financial planning, SG&A management, reporting, and identifying strategic initiatives to drive market and margin expansion.
Create a work environment that supports cross-functional team effectiveness.
Manage the Area month-end close and financial reporting process including the review of area results and the coordination of topside consolidating financial entries, publishing monthly financial metrics for Americas, analysis, and commentary.
Establish and maintain an effective and efficient planning process for the area and Commercial functions being supported, including coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
Facilitate data collection and analysis from the regions/countries ensuring reasonableness of the information on an absolute and performance basis with the continuous goal of understanding the different business drivers of the various regions/countries.
Participate as the Area Finance lead or “country liaison” with assigned countries which requires manager to have a robust understanding of the country markets, customers, pipeline, performance, risks, opportunities, etc. Manager is the first finance point of contact for the country commercial teams.
Facilitate weekly touch point calls with responsible region GMs and their teams.
Liaison with the Pricing Team, Area Finance lead on Margin improvement project tracking, savings validation, consolidation, and management reporting. Includes lead profitability by customer assessment.
Meet timing and quality standards to facilitate effective senior management review and decision-making.
Responsible for financial support and consolidation of the monthly process, along with business unit reporting (including US Commercial), collaboration with Area Commercial Excellence Team to ensure alignment on expectations and clear communication to country teams. Provide insights and key financial information for Area monthly close process.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
5 + years of relevant and progressive experience in Finance and Accounting
Ability to interact with and support senior level management and to work effectively and independently cross-functionally and cross-divisionally with various organizations
Strong financial analysis and dynamic modeling skills
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills; must possess critical thinking
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel/Word/Power Point)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Commercial, FP&A and / or Business Development
Experience with Power BI and SAP
Working knowledge of Finance Management in Canada and LATAM
