Join the RWE Renewables team as a Civil Engineer to drive our onshore wind and PV projects in Germany and help us shape the future of renewable energy.

The Project Engineering Germany department provides technical support and technical expertise in the development, construction and operation of our wind farms in the fields of Resource Assessment, Site Suitability, Civil and Electrical Engineering.

Your Activities 
As a Civil Engineer, you are the contact person for our project developers, construction teams and operations teams for all construction issues from the early development phase through to service life extensions during operation.

  • Evaluation and development of transport concepts for wind turbines and a preliminary wind farm layout.
  • Tendering of the subsoil and foundation expertise.
  • Support in the development of the wind farm layout, in particular the construction roads and crane parking areas, for all planning phases, taking into account the geological conditions encountered, planning law requirements and the availability of space.
  • Participation in site inspections and construction site visits.
  • Coordination of all planning-relevant topics with the wind turbine manufacturer
  • Preparation of the award of planning and construction services, in particular earthworks and, if necessary, special Civil Engineering works.
  • Support with construction supervision, control inspections and acceptance tests.
  • Supporting the project management in the evaluation of supplements
  • Project-orientated work with the assumption of technical responsibility, e.g. for conversion measures or continued operation
  • Support in the assessment of defects and warranty claims as well as maintenance measures and repairs.

Your activities will be carried out in close coordination with our project developers, our construction teams and our operations teams as well as with your direct colleagues from other departments.

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in Civil Engineering and expertise in the planning and tendering of wind farms or other infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in the tendering of engineering services and, if applicable, in the management of external engineering offices and consultants.
  • Expertise in the application of relevant technical standards and guidelines, particularly in the fields of earthworks, geotechnics and reinforced concrete construction.
  • Knowledge in the use of AutoCAD or comparable planning software.
  • Project management skills and ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks independently.
  • Ability to work in a team and interest in interdisciplinary tasks, combined with the ability to build sustainable working relationships in project teams across regions and functions.
  • Business fluent in German and good knowledge of English.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel on business, usually for one day.
