Certification Engineer (M/F/X)

At go-e, certification is a key milestone in the launch of our products. Even though the certification takes place towards the end of the development process, we have a comprehensive approach and embed standards and regulations already in the conception phase of our products. We are looking for a Certification Engineer to join our R&D Department in Berlin, who will be the go-to person for all certification and product compliance matters for our products and help us design our products and enter new markets.

Your area of responsibility

1. Driving the certification strategy from design and development all the way through product launch
2. Understanding of existing standards (esp. EN 62752, EN IEC 61851-1, EN 62196, IEC 62955)
3. Discovery of new standards and country-specific requirements
4. Forwarding requirements to Product Management
5. Supporting the organization of the test campaign
6. Carrying out specific activities part of the certification process, such as compiling Technical Dossiers, witnessing tests at external laboratories, checking and correcting test reports and managing the creation of certificates
7. Coordinating product compliance and precompliance activities with external laboratories
8. Identifying and mitigating certification risks
9. Communicating internally up to C-level and externally to partners and authorities

It would be great if you have 

• Conducted multiple certification campaigns for electronic devices
• Working experience in hardware development, testing, and certification programs
• Expert knowledge of relevant standards and bodies
• Experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive), LVD (Low Voltage Directive), RED (Radio Equipment Directive) and related standards
• Experience with external testing laboratories such as TÜV
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and product development processes
• Experience with translating standards into product requirements
• High level of reliability, accuracy, and structured approach to work and responsibility to achieve goals
• Fluency in English at C1 level

It would be even better if you have

• Degree in electrical, automotive, mechanical, industrial, or similar engineering disciplines
• Experience with MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) and related standards
• Experience with German Calibration Law (Eichrecht) according to PTB Document 6A
• Experience in the field of EV charging solutions
• Fluency in German at C1 level
