Backend Software Developer (f/m/d)

As a Backend Software Developer (f/m/d), you will implement and operate our custom software solutions that support RWE Renewables across the entire value chain of various business technologies (Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, Solar, Battery).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and define solution architectures in collaboration with other team members.

• Implement business-oriented solutions for web, mobile, and other software services.

• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure the integration of user interface and backend logic.

• Take operational responsibility and manage the application lifecycle for your solutions (3rd level).

• Ensure the security of your solutions.

• Write and ensure the accuracy of technical documentation.

Requirements

• Completed education as a Software Developer with practical experience or a comparable degree, such as a completed university of applied sciences degree.

• Solid knowledge and preferably certifications in the planning and implementation of software solutions for web and mobile applications.

• Extensive experience with backend development languages such as C# or Node.js is essential.

• Experience with .NET Framework and .NET Core for C# development or NestJS or other frameworks for Node.js development is required.

• Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar technologies. Knowledge in SQL and database design is required.

• Experience with TDD and the use of test frameworks such as NUnit for C# or Jest for Node.js.

• Experience in developing and managing REST API or GraphQL APIs.

• Experience in frontend implementation is advantageous.

• Knowledge and experience with Docker, Azure, RabbitMQ, and Redis are an advantage.

• Several years of experience with agile methods and with collaborative software development, e.g., pair programming, pull request reviews, Git flows, and more.

• Good understanding of software development practices, concepts, and architectures.

• A general understanding of renewable energy and its technologies, e.g., wind turbines, is advantageous.

• You are fluent in English.
