Managing, guiding and providing strategic advice to business and functional colleagues and contract professionals who draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply and sales agreements, bid bonds, project tender documents and JV and consortium agreements;
- Driving a culture of compliance through vigilance, training and investigations in a sprawling business with extensive positions in challenging emerging markets;
- Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct and ensure a proper resolution of such allegations;
- Advising on critical strategic and business matters, such as the risks and opportunities posed by potential transactions;
- Coordinating dispute resolution;
- Managing outside counsel;
- Identify changes in applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, and as well as related trends relevant to the company.

- over 7 years (combined) of working in a law firm and extensive in-house experience in the region with a focus on competition law, litigation management, m&a, and general corporate and commercial law.
- experience advising business leaders across a full spectrum of issues and matters.
- experience in working with teams of diverse background spread across multiple countries.
- capacity and flexibility to manage multiple opportunities/issues simultaneously.
- law degree required and substantial experience working under common law.
- experience in the coatings industry is a plus, but other previous experiences in complementary, industrial sector assignments will also be highly considered.
- superior oral and written communication skills in english and german.

The Associate General Counsel EMEA ("Associate General Counsel") will be responsible for advising business unit leaders on all facets of legal matters impacting their business and operations as well as providing general legal support to business functions such as human resources, finance and tax within EMEA.
