Purpose of the position
Lead the German Finance unit in Business Area (BA) Finance and fulfil the Finance Business Partner function on behalf of Germany towards its Senior Vice President (SVP). The role will also be responsible for ensuring correct and quality in the input into the financial business plan and performance management, thus working closely with the VP Financial Reporting and VP Performance and Risk Mgmt.
Areas of responsibility and accountability
The Germany Finance Director shall:
- Act as first point of contact in the finance area for the business and staff units in Germany
- Business Partner to match Germany SVP
- Have responsibility for leading financial aspects of the business including financial reporting and control, cash flow management, Financial Planning & Analysis
- Hold overall responsibility for high quality operational, commercial, market and financial analysis for Germany
- Support project development, M&A, business integration and investment processes in finance related aspects
- Responsible for internal control for the legal entities, ensure that accounting, reporting and other financial activities of the legal entity are performed in compliance with local legislations and Group Policies.
- Ensure that necessary segregation of duties within the financial area of the legal entity is implemented and enforced.
- Hold legal responsibility as Directors/Board Members
- Coordinate and align the provision of relevant group services within the geography, for instance Tax, Treasury, Compliance, Legal and group accounting
- Support local Europe staff, including but not limited to PDU, Procurement and Business Support and other BAs as needed
- Be an active member of the Europe Finance Management Team
Key interfaces: working closely with the other BA Europe Finance units, SVP Germany and the country management team
Management responsibilities:
Reports to SVP Finance and a member of the Finance and Germany management team. Mandates and decision authorities are defined in the BA Europe Authority Matrix and the BA Europe Operating Model.
The Germany Finance Director shall manage and develop the unit to ensure delivery of targets, including:
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of employees.
- Develop the organisation to deliver on business priorities and ensure collaboration with other units.
- Ensure awareness of and adherence with Code of Conduct and The Statkraft Way.
- Oversee the overall planning, budgeting, and performance management process within the unit.
Experience / knowledge
- Master’s level within Business Administration, Finance or similar
- Solid experience from
- CFO, VP Finance or Finance Director role
- Preferably in a large or medium-sized international organisation
- Proven management experience in relevant Finance activities, including finance reporting, controlling and risk management preferably in a large or medium-sized international organisation.
- Experience from optimizing financial performance, value creation and the overall management of financial actions across project portfolios.
- Solid experience from renewable project development, M&A and financial power markets – including the facilitation of asset allocation.
- Strong commercial mindset and drive with ability to make good judgements and take decisions.
- Solid experience from business integration and project development.
- Local business knowledge and experience is an advantage
