Position overview

Are you interested in learning more about the Procurement department in the world leading industrial coatings resins company? allnex is looking for an experienced Indirect Procurement Team Lead who has a strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a strong project management skills to join our team. In role of Team Lead Indirect Procurement EMEA in allnex you will be responsible for the sourcing off all indirect goods and services (both strategic and commercial aspects) within EMEA, managing and developing the indirect procurement team within the Region EMEA in order to guarantee at all times reliable supply at lowest TCO.

Responsibilities

  • To lead the company’s efforts for setting clear and compelling sourcing and supplier strategies and executed (with the site managers buy-in) for all key indirect goods and services within EMEA
  • Manage the indirect spend portfolio and the team within EMEA to maximize synergies
  • Act as primary contact towards key suppliers and develop strong partnerships with these
  • Make sure supplier performance against agreed upon key performance indicators is reviewed and action plans for continuous improvement are defined
  • Provide reliable and compliant sources of supply, with competitive prices and on-spec deliveries
  • Liaise with peers for deployment of those strategies at regional, (cluster) and local level
  • Implement sourcing strategies defined globally or within the region, leading the approach within the cluster
  • Set savings plan, (improvement) targets and monitor suppliers performance
  • Work in close co-operation with respective key stakeholders, e.g., site management, engineering, SHE, peers etc.
  • Drive the optimization of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Provide guidance on the procurement strategy of the EMEA region to the team
  • Makes sure for full involvement in site cost development and CAPEX plans & projects (from inception to when project is closed out) and ensures that procurement savings initiatives are aligned
  • Support and drive development (process, organizational and personal development), identifying and engaging team to participate in operational improvement initiatives

Required skills and experience

  • Purchasing experience in similar role (8 to 10 years), with exposure to major indirect spend categories, including the more technically oriented
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in managing a purchasing team (up to 10 direct reports)
  • Relevant experience in negotiating, contracting and managing regional suppliers at a Senior Level
  • Proven success in operating in an international company
  • Solid understanding of the Source-to-Contract procurement process
  • Development of sourcing strategies and implementation through a systematic sourcing process, e.g. 7-Step Process
  • Project management to lead strategic initiatives
  • Ability to analyze & build thorough investment cases (discounted cash flows, NPV, ROI, etc.)
  • Highly effective communicator (management level presentations, conflict resolution, influencing) & team-player (incl. leading virtual teams)
  • Technical affinity with respect to industrial goods & services

Qualifications

  • Higher education with preferred Master Degree in Economics, Engineering and/or MBA
  • Fluent in English (Additional languages are a plus)
  • Skilled in MS Office applications and SAP
