Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Laser Systems and Optics

Your main tasks:
- Responsibility for a wide variety of projects - from conception to simulation, initial sample production to the final product
- With an eye for new trends, joint advancement of pre-development in the area of mechanical engineering
- Close cooperation within the team as well as regular coordination with colleagues from physics, production, product management and supply chain management
- Together with the Director of Mechanical Engineering, support and further development of the team members
You have...
- a university degree in precision engineering, fine instrument engineering, mechanical engineering, medical engineering or mechatronics
- at least 7 years of professional experience in the mechanical design of technically demanding instruments of small and medium quantities in an industrial environment, preferably in the field of optical systems, aerospace, special machine construction, machine tools, medical or cryo-instruments
- a good understanding of materials and manufacturing methods
- knowledge in (thermo-)mechanical analysis as well as in the design of mechanisms and assemblies
- routine in dealing with vibration analysis and vibration testing, especially in the field of microvibration
- experience with dynamic multi-body systems and solid-state joints or with compliant systems
- desire to stay one step ahead and develop tomorrow's laser systems today
