The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. We seek to fill the following position:
Research Associate (f/m/div) - Political Communication
part-time (15-20 hours per week).
The contract shall commence as of 01 March 2023 and is initially limited until 29 Februrary 2024.
Your tasks:
In cooperation with Professor Andrea Römmele, you will perform the following:
- Collaboration and editing of scientific contributions
- Content preparation for lectures, teaching activities and scientific contributions
- Briefings and content preparation for media appearances and contributions
- Conception of innovative communication formats in the field of science communication
- Research and editing for a book project on democratic futures
Your profile:
- Completed university studies (Master's degree or equivalent) with reference to the social sciences
- Strong writing skills and first experience in editing scientific texts
- Business fluent in German and fluent in written and spoken English
- Interest in topics of political sociology (parties, participation, elections, political communication, democracy) and willingness to deepen these independently
- Strong knowledge and ability to judge current political events and developments
- Good knowledge of MS Word and MS Powerpoint
- Ability to work independently
