The Position
We are looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow with high motivation and experience in the fields of microfluidics and microfabrication for immunodiagnostics.
Your position and department:
You will be part of a team of engineers, technicians and biotechnologists within our department of Core Lab System Research & Early Development.
We focus on the development and evaluation of new technologies and systems with the aim of transferring them to the product development of new systems.
We work closely together with teams in other departments on multiple topics. Therefore, a high degree of flexibility is part of our everyday life.

What you can expect:
You are working on the development of microfluidic technologies that will enable new approaches to sample preparation and detection technologies
You review the technology landscape and determine possible avenues for future development and potential generation of intellectual property
You establish an in-house toolbox of technological methods for fabricating microfluidic structures
You design, develop and analyze microfluidics structures with the goal of solving current challenges in sample preparation
You experimentally validate your designs with a focus on reliability, reproducibility and reusability
You determine business viability and usability of your concepts
You see the bigger picture and promote your findings within the company network with the goal of integrating your solutions into our existing product portfolio
You establish connections between functions, support the organization in generating and assessing innovation ideas, and assist ongoing projects teams with your knowledge

You qualify for this position with the following prerequisites:
You have successfully completed a PhD related to engineering or life sciences with a technical focus relevant experience in modeling and fabrication of microfluidics.
You have experience in protein diagnostics and understand the relevant aspects and pitfalls of protein immunoassays.
You have hands-on experience with microfluidic techniques such as nano dispensing, electrowetting, droplets, etc. Your profile is rounded off by having good communication skills in English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
You effectively combine a collaborative mindset with strong analytical skills to solve problems both by yourself as well as by leading and helping others
You are not only interested in the technical aspects, but consider business relevance as a key success factor
You are a curious and quick learner who likes to develop into new fields, roles and responsibilities
This position will be filled with effect early summer 2023 and is limited to 2 years with the possibility to extend..
