What you will be doing

The Quality Assurance Manager supports the implementation of the quality management requirements defined in the relevant standards and company regulations.

The quality management consists of three parts:

1.    Definition of Quality Objectives by Project Management
The quality objectives of the project must be defined and communicated. This is the only way to perform the necessary and planned quality-related progress control and deviation analysis. The overall quality and project objectives must be broken down and specified in measurable terms. Other stakeholder objectives must also be considered.

Control measures and actions are required to achieve the quality objectives.

  • Preparation of Quality Assurance plans for projects
  • Support in the sales phase (contract content, specifications) regarding qualitative and normative requirements

3.    Quality Control
The Quality Assurance Manager and the project manager jointly monitor whether the measures from the quality management and Quality Assurance plans have been implemented in the required quality. If deviations from the previously jointly defined measurement values are detected, they must jointly take countermeasures.

As Quality Assurance Manager your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Planning, definition, and control of QA activities based on customer requirements, classification societies, certification bodies and required standards (ISO, AQAP) or internal regulations
  • Responsible customer contact for all quality issues
  • Prepare reliability and failure analysis for system deliveries according to general engineering rules, contractual requirements and/or classification society requirements
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of Quality Assurance acceptance tests (FAT, HAT, SAT) for civil and military projects
  • Reviewing and evaluating the quality status of suppliers during the selection process
  • Planning and monitoring of QA activities during production, including suppliers
  • Monitoring the quality level of product and system deliveries and supporting acceptance tests, both internally and with suppliers
  • Planning, execution, and control of QA activities for integration and support of acceptance in the delivery process
  • Support the execution of root cause analysis in case of deviations
  • Support with complex and difficult complaints and claims
  • Reporting and analysis of compliance with agreed actions
  • Contribute to business unit QA KPIs
  • Develop measures to reduce warranty costs
  • Communicate and report quality issues to the appropriate solution or product owner and ensure follow-up activities

You will shine in this role, when you have:

  • Completed technical studies (Master, Bachelor)
  • Qualification as Quality Assurance Representative
  • 3-4 years technical project planning or order execution
  • 2-3 years as Quality Assurance representative for relevant products
  • Good knowledge of all relevant standards and regulations, especially in the field of military business
  • Knowledge of design processes in the shipbuilding or marine equipment industry
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Fluent German language skills
  • Experience in cost optimization
  • SAP knowledge
