AdresseThe Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine at Dresden University of Technology covers the entire spectrum of medical education. PhD Student position (f/m/x)
in the group of Dr. Tiago C. Alves at the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine
This part-time-position is limited for 36 months.
Applications are invited for a PhD student position in our group to study the metabolic programming of pancreas progenitors for the generation of functional ß-cells. Our group is interested in the quantitative analysis of metabolism, its regulation and impact on the function of pancreatic beta-cells. In this particular project, the student will be involved in the characterization of metabolic and genetic mechanisms linking cellular metabolism in embryonic pancreatic progenitors with self-renewal and commitment to differentiation.

Your profile:
- We are thus looking for a highly motivated candidate to start as soon as possible and with an interest in combining genetic manipulation with enzymatic characterization and state-of-the-art metabolic flux analysis tools.
- Applicants will be expected to have an excellent master degree ) in biochemistry or related disciplines, strong lab skills, independent spirit and a good command of the English language
- Prior knowledge of bioinformatics analysis (e.g., R, Python) is advantageous but not obligatory
