You will be responsible for the following Tasks
The role is responsible for driving Inland growth by effectively partnering with other departments to service the needs of existing and potential customers.
Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing and pricing the Business Development strategy to drive the growth and profitability of Inland services in Germany and supporting Austria, Switzerland, and where feasible across the area
  • Takes the lead on new projects related to Inland growth including with the over-arching aim to expand Maersk’s store-door volumes
  • Business Development: Responsible for developing and driving inland volume and gross profit growth, identifying and pursuing opportunities, co-join important customer meetings, stakeholder engagement, and relationship building. Proactively 'sells' Inland internally by engaging with Sales, providing support and training
  • Actively promotes our Inland service offerings across the organization and supports the local intermodal plan incl. market mapping, competitive environment evaluation, inland strategy, corridor optimization, target customer insights, pricing strategy
  • Responsible for pricing of the products and respective tender management
    • Responsible for single carrier and multicarrier/standalone intermodal solutions, pricing and tender response
    • Tender pricing: Studying side conditions, analyzing the inland potential, pricing the individual corridors in the negotiation platform or manually.
    • Pricing/Tariff maintenance: analyze import and export flows and revise tariffs
We are looking for
The successful applicant will have experience in tenders, the market and utilizing systems and databases to gather insights to further develop the intermodal product and pricing in North Europe Continent with focus on Germany. The position reports to the Head of Intermodal Product Management, location is expected to be in our Hamburg office.
  • Inclination towards data analysis and utilizing systems to derive actionable data
  • Experience in Product Management or commercial function, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Commercial mindset and deep knowledge of Inland transportation
  • Business acumen and strong understanding of intermodal and project operations.
  • Proven sound business judgment; the ability to set direction and establish priorities for medium/long term objectives consistent with Logistics & Services’ global strategies.
  • Ability to manage complexity and promote simplification.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work systematically with an energetic, positive mindset and attitude
  • Strong communications skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English and ideally German
