Was Sie machen werden:
- Recherche nach und Bewertung von Konkurrenzpatenten
- Ausarbeitung von Patentanmeldungen und Beantwortung von Amtsbeschwerden
- Vorbereitung von Klagen gegen Patente von Wettbewerbern
- Durchführung von Freedom-to-Operate-Recherchen für Produkte von Kao Deutschland
- Vertretung von Kao Deutschland bei Patentämtern
- Beratung des F&E-Managements in patentbezogenen Themen
- Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung von IP-Strategien
- Entwurf und Durchführung von Patentrecherchestrategien
- Vorschlagen und Ausarbeiten von patentierbaren Gegenständen
- Effiziente Zusammenarbeit mit regionalem RD
- Verbessern der IP-Kenntnisse von Forschern.
- Erreichen einer globalen IP-Harmonisierung durch Zusammenarbeit mit dem HQ-IP-Center.
- Kontinuierliche Wettbewerbsanalyse in Bezug auf Patentankündigungen und Identifizierung der daraus resultierenden Patente durch Recherche in relevanten Medien (z.B. Datenbanken, Internet).
- Technologische Bewertung von kosmetischen und pharmazeutischen Formulierungen im Hinblick auf geistige Eigentumsrechte.
- Hochschulabschluss (Master, vorzugsweise PhD) in Naturwissenschaften (z. B. Chemie, Pharmazie oder gleichwertig)
- erste Erfahrung als Chemiker/in, Apotheker/in ist von Vorteil, Kenntnisse im Bereich des geistigen Eigentums sind von Vorteil
- Bereitschaft zum Erwerb der Zulassung als europäische/r Patentanwalt/in
- Möglichkeit zum Aufbau eines globalen Patentportfolios
- Ausgezeichnete Kommunikations- und Präsentationsfähigkeiten
- Ausgezeichnete Fähigkeiten zur Einflussnahme
- Ausgezeichnete Führungsqualitäten und Fähigkeiten zur Zusammenarbeit
- Gute Kenntnisse in Patentdatenbanken
- Aufgeschlossenheit, interkulturelles Bewusstsein und hohe Flexibilität
- Lösungsorientiertheit und positive Einstellung/Kann-Haltung
- Fließende Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift, deutsche Sprachkenntnisse bevorzugt, französische Sprachkenntnisse optional

Who we are:
The role:
In this role, you will handle patent-related work for all R&D projects.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Darmstadt.
What you will do:
- Searching for and evaluating of competitor patents
- Drafting patent applications and answering office actions
- Prepare actions against competitor patents
- Conducting Freedom-to-operate searches for Kao Germany products
- Representation of Kao Germany at Patent Offices
- Advising R&D management in patent-related topics
- Supporting IP strategy development
- Design and execution of patent search strategies
- Proposing and drafting patentable subject matter
- Collaborate effectively with Regional RD
- Improve IP literacy of researchers.
- Achieve global IP harmonization by collaborating with HQ IP Center.
- Continuous competition analysis with respect to patent notices and identification of resulting patents through research in relevant media (ex. Databases, Internet).
- Technological evaluation of cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations with regard to intellectual property rights.
What you need:
- University degree (Master, preferably PhD) in natural sciences (e.g. chemistry, pharmacy or equivalent)
- 1 years of experience as a Chemist, Pharmacist is preferred, knowledge of IP preferred
- Willingness to become a licensed European Patent Attorney
