For our Intellectual Property department we are looking for a skilled Patent Attorney to become part of a dedicated and experienced team with a passion for intellectual property rights.
Your contribution to our vision
  • Become part of Siemens Gamesa's global Intellectual Property (IP) department with colleagues in Spain, Denmark and Germany, supporting particularly R&D sites including Siemens Gamesa in Spain and Denmark., and be part of the further integration into a joint IP department for the entire Siemens Energy Group.
The activities include in detail:
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications - either directly or in collaboration with outside patent counsels,
  • Defend granted IP rights in opposition proceedings before patent offices,
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders of the business units for identification of inventions, to ensure that new developments are patent protected, to provide prior art searches,
  • Perform Freedom to Operate analysis, analyze third party patent activities and assist in competitor monitoring,
  • Representation in all patent and trademark matters before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, as well as before the German Federal Patent Court,
  • Creation of a patent strategy coordinated with the business units in order to maintain the exclusivity of the developed products and solutions and to protect from attacks by third parties,
  • Licensing of IP rights, contribute in drafting and negotiation of IP related agreements.
What you bring with you
Passion for renewable energy and a flair for climate change. In addition, we are looking for...
  • European Patent Attorney and/or Patent Assessor with appropriate patent attorney knowledge (German PatG, inventor remuneration, EPC, PCT, national law especially US and CN) and with relevant experience
  • Engineering master's degree or a science degree with a broad basic technical knowledge
  • To be able to work independently
  • Being a motivated team player
  • Ability to work cross-culturally with developers and decision makers from various international locations
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of English and German, both written and spoken
